St. Cloud State Track & Field Set for NSIC Indoor Championships

Huskies will have 14 entries for two-day meet in Mankato
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field team kicks off postseason competition for the at the 2022 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Track & Field Indoor Championships, Feb. 25-26 in Mankato, Minn. The Huskies will have 12 individual entries and two relay teams over the two-day meet at Myers Field House.

A pair of Husky jumpers who will compete this weekend, senior Faith Lubner (Reedville, Wis.) and junior Parker Buske (Madison, Wis.), have already set NCAA provisional marks. Lubner posted a mark of 5.82m (19-1.25) in the long jump at the Chuck Peterson Open (Dec. 4, 2021), while Buske posted a mark of 5.72m (18-9.25) in the long jump at the Mark Miller Invite (Feb. 18) and 11.89m (39-0.25) in the triple jump at the Stout Open (Jan. 22).
In its last time out, the Huskies had six student-athletes record seven personal best marks at the Mark Miller Invitational. Buske and freshman Shelby Romig (Ankeny, Iowa) recorded the top finishes on the day for the Huskies, finishing runner-up in the triple jump and the 60m hurdles, respectively. Buske and graduate student Maya Taylor (Oswego, Ill.) finished second and third, respectively, in the triple jump, recording marks of 11.76m (38-7) and 11.50m (37-8.75). Buske also recorded a fourth-place finish and personal best mark in the long jump at 5.72m (18-9.25). Romig had a large improvement in the 60m hurdles, improving from a 9.20 in the prelims to a 9.02 finish in the finals to finish second.
The Huskies finished seventh at the 2021 NSIC Indoor Championships and were selected to finish eighth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
