
St. Cloud State Track & Field’s Arason and Buske Set for NCAA Indoor Championships

Arason will compete in the pentathlon, Buske in the triple jump on Saturday
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Track & Field will have two student athletes in competition at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place March 11-12 in Piitsburg, Kan., at the Harvey Dean Track. Senior Hannah Arason (Grand Forks, N.D.) will compete in the pentathlon, while junior Parker Buske (Madison, Wis.) qualified triple jump.
Both Huskies will compete on Saturday after producing top-20 marks in their respective events during the season. The pentathlon is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. CT, while the triple jump is slated to start at 3:05 p.m. CT. The meet will be streamed on NCAA.com.
In the pentathlon, Arason currently holds the sixth-best mark at the Division II level with a score of 3,713 points and the Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Jan. 27-28. Arason was named the NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for her performance as she surpassed the NCAA Provisional by almost 500 points (3,258) with event wins in the 60m hurdles (9.07), high jump (1.70m/5-7), long jump (5.40m/17-8.75) and the 800m run (2:25.92). Her high jump mark also ranked 11th in the NCAA when posted.
Buske's season- and personal-best mark of 12.13m (39-9.75) in the triple jump currently ranks 17th in the NCAA field. She set the mark at the NSIC Championships (Feb. 26) where she earned NSIC All-Conference honors with a third-place finish. It was the second time this season Buske had posted a personal best mark in the event after jumping 11.89m (39-0.25) at the Stout Open (Jan. 22).
