
Arason Sets Meet and Facility Record at Minnesota State Open

Huskies record 10 top-five finishes, team finishes in sixth place with 76 points
MANKATO, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field team recorded 10 top-five finishes at the Minnesota State Open in Mankato on Saturday. Senior Hannah Arason (Grand Forks, N.D.) provided the highlight of the meet, finishing first in the javelin while setting a meet and facility record with a mark of 41.93m (137-7). Junior Parker Buske (Madison, Wis.) provided the other meet win on the day of the Huskies, finishing first in the triple jump with a wind-aided (3.9) mark of 12.32m (40-5).
As a team, the Huskies finished sixth with 76 points behind Minnesota State (190), Augustana (148), South Dakota State (108.5), Sioux Falls (87.5) and Minnesota Duluth (77).

Next up, the Huskies will compete in the TomCat Twilight on Wednesday, April 13 in St. Paul, Minn.

NOTABLE FINISHES
- Arason posted her meet and facility record mark of 41.93m (137-7) in her second throw, and won by more than six feet, as Smanatha Sunnarborg recorded a mark of 40.01m (131-4). Her mark ranks 10th in the NCAA Central Region and 24th in all of NCAA D-II this season.
- Buske posted two wind-aided marks in the triple and long jump, finishing first and third, respectively with marks of 12.32m (40-5) and 5.77m (18-11.25), respectively.
- In the 400m hurdles, freshman Brooklyn Brouse (Thief River Falls, Minn.) finished second with a time of 1:03.91, while freshman Shelby Romig (Ankeny, Iowa) finished third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.12. Both times were personal record times.
Next up, the Huskies will compete in the TomCat Twilight on Wednesday, April 13 in St. Paul, Minn.
