St. Cloud State Track & Field Splits to Two Meets this Weekend

Huskies will compete at the Phil Esten Challenge in LaCrosse and the Holst Invitational in St. Paul
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field team continues its outdoor season this weekend as the team splits for two meets, the Phil Esten Challenge in LaCrosse, Wis., and the Holst Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. The Phil Esten Challenge competed Thursday – Saturday, while the Holst Invitational will be held Friday and Saturday. The Huskies have opened the outdoor season with 21 top-five finishes in its first two meets, recording 11 at the Hamline Invitational on April 3 and 10 at the Minnesota State Open on April 10. St. Cloud State had two event wins in Mankato, as senior Hannah Arason (Grand Forks, N.D.) won the javelin and junior Parker Buske (Madison, Wis.) captured the triple jump title.
Arason posted her meet and facility record mark of 41.93m (137-7) in her second throw, and won by more than six feet, as Smanatha Sunnarborg recorded a mark of 40.01m (131-4). Her mark ranks 10th in the NCAA Central Region and 24th in all of NCAA D-II this season. Buske posted two wind-aided marks in the triple and long jump, finishing first and third with marks of 12.32m (40-5) and 5.77m (18-11.25), respectively.
