Worsdell and Lopez find the back of the net, De Baldo earns clean sheet in 2-0 win over NMU

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (2-5-2, 2-2-1 GLIAC) earned its second consecutive win, beating Northern Michigan, 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Husky Stadium. The Huskies handed Northern Michigan (2-7-1, 1-4-0 GLIAC) its fifth loss in a row.

Owen Worsdell (Brighton, England) dribbled the ball from midfield into the penalty box on the left side of the field and before slotting in a left-footed shot across the goal into the right side-netting to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. In the final minute of the game, Ronaldo Lopez (Baraboo, Wis.) took a pass from Philip Caputo (Eagan, Minn.) and rifled a left-footed shot across the net into the right side-netting to give SCSU a 2-0 lead.

Worsdell logged all 90 minutes and provided the game-winning goal.
Lopez played 19 minutes off the bench and scored the second goal of the game.
Dylan De Baldo (Vancouver, Wash.) made eight saves in 90 minutes, earning a clean sheet.

"Owen Worsdell who scored the winner was clearly the most exceptional player on the field today, he's so good attacking from the backline, he's big time...the back four [Worsdell, Vukota Mastilovic, Juan Villegas, and Noah Eklund] and Dylan De Baldo were terrific and I thought Nolan [Pratumwon] and Andrew [Holmes] did a really good job protecting the back four...the sign of our growth today was that we played a few guys off the bench and were really impactful – Ronaldo [Lopez] scores a goal, Yuken [Harmon] with his runs, Austin Plumhoff, Noah Kantorowicz was great on the right wing – so many guys contributed and that's what we need to be competitive."

Noah Eklund (Andover, Minn.) logged 90 minutes for the fourth time this season (second consecutive) and the 25th time in his career.
Mika Folstad (St. Paul, Minn.) started for the second match in a row and fourth time this season.
Yuken Harmon (Coon Rapids, Minn.) tied his season-highs of shots (two) and shots on goal (one).
Andrew Holmes (St. Cloud, Minn.) made his fifth straight start of the season and played 90 minutes for the third consecutive match and fourth time this season.
Vukota Mastilovic (Belgrade, Serbia) logged 90 minutes for the eighth time this year and the 31st time in his career.
Rhys Ward (Bettendorf, Iowa) made his second consecutive start of the season (third overall) and recorded a career-high three shots.
