SCSU plays Davenport on Friday, Saginaw Valley State on Sunday
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (3-6-2 overall, 3-3-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) travels to Michigan for two GLIAC matches. The Huskies play Davenport (3-4-3 overall, 2-3-1 GLIAC) on Friday at 6 p.m. CT and Saginaw Valley State (3-5-3 overall, 1-3-2 GLIAC) on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT. Friday's match will be at Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex in Caledonia, Mich. And Sunday's will take place at Robert C. Braddock Field in University Center, Mich.

LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies split their matchups last weekend, losing 3-0 to Purdue Northwest on Friday night and beating UW-Parkside 2-1 on Sunday morning with goals coming from junior midfielder Philip Caputo (Eagan, Minn.) and fifth-year midfielder Zinedine Kroeten (St. Louis Park, Minn.). Both games were played at Husky Stadium, the last regular season home games of the season. With the win on Sunday, SCSU earned its third conference victory and handed UW-Parkside its first conference loss of the season. St. Cloud State now sits in third place in the regular season GLIAC standings.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the seventh time the Huskies have played Davenport. SCSU was beat by Davenport, 2-1 in its second conference match of the season on Sept. 17. Senior midfielder Noah Kantorowicz (Minneapolis) scored the Huskies lone goal of the match. St. Cloud State holds a 0-5-1 all-time record against DU.
Sunday will be the sixth time the Huskies match up against Saginaw Valley State. SCSU picked up a 0-0 draw against the Cardinals it its first GLIAC match of the season on Sept. 15. The Huskies hold an 0-4-1 all-time record against SVSU.
SCOUTING DAVENPORT
Davenport ended its two-game skid last match, picking up a 2-0 win over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday bringing its overall record to 3-4-3 and 2-3-1 in GLIAC play. The Panthers currently sit fourth in the GLIAC standings.
DU has had a balanced offensive attack. Three Panthers have three goals - sophomore forward Vitalis Takawira Jr., graduate student midfielder Eoin Broughan and sophomore forward Andrew Dykstra. Takawira Jr. also has one assist on the season. Graduate student defender Nic Baigrie has played every available minute for Davenport. Three goalkeepers have seen minutes between the post but redshirt senior Bobby Curran has seen the most. He has made seven starts and has posted a 2-2-3 record with two shutouts and 28 saves and a 1.04 goals against average which ranks second in the GLIAC. Curran has earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice.

Saginaw Valley State is on a three-game skid. They hold a 3-5-3 overall record and are 1-3-2 in GLIAC play. The Cardinals are fifth in the GLIAC standings.
The Cardinals are led on offense by junior forward Jonathan Monney who has scored five goals. He earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors in week four and is tied for third in the GLIAC for goals. Senior forward Jayden Cameron has scored two goals and has one assist. Junior defender, Benjamin Adamson earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in week three. SVSU has used three goalkeepers this year. Sophomore Nick Kay made the first two starts, junior Jack Simms started the next seven and sophomore Connor Beach has started the last two. Simms has posted a 3-1-3 record earning three shutouts while making 27 saves. He owns a goals against average of 1.14 which is third best in the conference.
