Huskies use huge fourth quarter to come back and take down UMary, 60-53
BISMARCK, N.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Basketball (6-3 overall, 3-2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) got back in the win column Tuesday evening, taking down UMary, 60-53 at the McDowell Activity Center in Bismarck.
After trailing for most of the game, SCSU used a 25-point fourth quarter performance to storm into the lead and eventually win the game. The Huskies made 8-of-13 shots from the field (61.5%) and 9-of-10 free throws in the final frame while holding UMary (5-6, 3-2 NSIC) to 3-of-10 shooting from the field.

The Huskies return home for their last home game of 2023 on Saturday when they face off against Bemidji State. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. CT at Halenbeck Hall. TOP HUSKIES
- Sophomore forward Ashley Sawicki (Waunakee, Wis.) nearly had a double-double, recording 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds. She shot 7-of-15 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line and blocked two shots.
- Senior forward Dru Henning (Mukwonago, Wis.) scored a team-high 17 points (3-of-4 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line) and grabbed three rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Jada Eggebrecht (Phillips, Wis.) scored nine points and grabbed three rebounds.
- SCSU is now 19-10 all-time against UMary after the win.
- SCSU led the game in three-point percentage (14.3%-7.7%), free throw percentage (85.7%-57.1%), three pointers (2-1), free throws (18-8) and total rebounds (12-27—39 – 7-23—30).
- UMary led in field goal percentage (41.5%-37.0%), field goals (22-20), assists (14-7), blocks (5-3), points off turnovers (15-14), points in the paint (34-28) and bench points (13-7).
- The teams both recorded seven steals, six second-chance points and 10 fast break points.
- Sawicki set new career-highs in points (17), minutes played (28), field goals made (seven – tie) and field goals attempted (15). She has recorded 2+ blocks in five games this year. She has recorded 11+ points four times this season and she has recorded 8+ rebounds four times this season.
- Henning scored a season-high 15 points, just missing out on her career-high, 16, from last year. She set new career bests in free throws made (nine) and free throws attempted (10). She tied her season-high, making three field goals.
- Eggebrecht has scored nine points in back-to-back games and gone 3-of-3 from the line in both.
- Senior guard Tori Peschel (Sauk Centre, Minn.) scored five points and grabbed five rebounds. She made her first three pointer of the season and tied her season-high of two three-point attempts.
- Senior guard Morgan Draheim (Hortonville, Wis.) scored seven points, dished out three assists and recorded her first career blocked shot. She has recorded 3+ assists in five games.
- Senior guard Makenna Vanzant (Farmington, Ark.) grabbed five rebounds.
- Freshman forward Paige Lambe (Verona, Wis.) attempted her first two career three pointers.
- Freshman forward Abigail O'Reilly (Elgin, Minn.) tied her career-high, recording one steal.
