GRAND FORKS, N.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (1-0, 0-0 NSIC) cruised to a 6-1 victory against Minnesota Crookston on Friday afternoon. The Huskies earned the doubles point winning all three matches and then won five of the six singles matches.
Doubles
St. Cloud State grabbed the doubles point by winning all three matches. The sophomore duo of Maria Paz Aoki (Marcos Paz, Argentina) and Claudia Muñoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain) won at the No. 1 spot 7-5 over Blaike Zander and Kavya Singth. Senior Arisa Kashima (Saitama, Japan) and freshman Oriana Grott (Warsaw, Poland) also won 7-5 at the No. 2 spot over Madeline Schneider and Sarah Velasquez. In the No. 3 spot, sophomore Johana Brower (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and sophomore Maria Molitor (Delano, Minn.) had a convincing 7-0 victory over Michelle Swyter and Samantha Gutierrez.
Singles
In Singles play, the Huskies were able to get straight set victories in the second, third, fourth, and fifth spot with wins from Paz Aoki, Muñoz Perez, Kashima, Brower, and Molitor. All were convincing victories as the Golden Eagles never scored more than 3 games in any set.

St. Cloud State will travel to Duluth next weekend to take on the Duluth Bulldogs on February 11 at 5:15 p.m.
