Huskies’ shutout for third time this season
St. Cloud, Minn.- St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (7-5-0, 5-3-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) suffered their third consecutive loss as they fell to Davenport 1-0. The Huskies nearly got on the board in the first 20 seconds as Mika Folstad was fouled in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Folstad stepped up and fired a shot into the bottom left corner that would be saved by Beau Hudd of Davenport. St. Cloud State continued to put pressure on the Panthers to start the game as Owen Worsdell fired a shot into the bottom right corner that would be saved and then Rhys Ward struck the right post on a shot. The two teams continued to trade blows, but neither were able to find the back of the net in the first half. Davenport drew first blood in the game as an arrant pass by the Huskies landed to Valerii Burlacenco who scored on the opportunity. The Panthers took a 1-0 at the 54 minute mark and never looked back. Despite giving up 16 shots with seven landing on goal, Davenport shutout the Huskies as they took down St. Cloud State by a score of 1-0.
