Last Time Out
St. Cloud State played their final two regular season games of the season at Husky Stadium as they hosted Davenport and Saginaw Valley State.
Friday's game against the Panthers was a tightly contested match throughout the entirety of the game. St. Cloud State nearly got on the board in the first 20 seconds of the game as Mika Folstad drew a foul in the box but would have his penalty kick saved. The Huskies used that momentum as they continued to generate offensive opportunities as Owen Worsdell fired a shot on goal that would be saved and then Rhys Ward struck the right post on a shot in the box. Neither team were able to find the back of the net in the opening half as the half finished in a 0-0 tie. In the 54th minute, Davenport drew first blood as they took advantage of an arrant pass by the Huskies as Valerii Burlacenco found the back of the net off the misstep. St. Cloud State continued to create opportunities late in the half but were unable to tie the game as they fell 1-0 to Davenport.
Sunday's game against Saginaw Valley State saw the Huskies trail early in the game as the Cardinals found the back of the net in the 12th minute to take a 1-0 lead. SVSU expanded on that lead in the 41st minute as the Cardinals took advantage of a close free kick to take a 2-0 lead going into halftime. St. Cloud State was blanketed by the SVSU in the first half as they could only muster up two shots, with none coming on goal. The Huskies made a late surge in the game as Eduardo Baluino put the Huskies on the board in the 79th after being set up by Mahmood Maldonado and Ziad Kaddah. SCSU were unable to strike twice as they were defeated 2-1 for their fourth straight loss.
