
No. 10 Women’s Hockey Prepares for Road Series Against No. 2 Wisconsin

MADISON, WIS. — The St. Cloud State Women's Hockey Team (15-10-1, 10-9-1 WCHA) hits the road for their first away series of 2024. The team is set to take on No. 2 Wisconsin (22-4-0, 16-4-0 WCHA) on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's puck drop is slated for 3:00 p.m. CT while Sunday's puck drop is set for 4:00 p.m. CT.
SERIES HISTORY
St. Cloud State is 9-94-3 overall when taking on the Badgers. On the road, the team has gone 4-49-0 going back to their first game on October 29, 1999. The teams met earlier this season at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center where the Badgers were able to walk away with two wins. On Friday and Saturday, The Huskies were taken down by scores of 4-2 and 5-2, respectively. Svenja Voigt (Cologne, Germany) and Alice Sauriol (Sherbrooke, Quebec) would each tally a goal in game one. In game two, Katie Kaufman and Alice Sauriol would each find the back of the net in the 5-2 loss.
PENALTY KILLERS
On November 4, 2023, the Huskies allowed just one power play goal from Wisconsin, a team low for the Badgers. At this point in the season, the Badgers are 28-for-92 or 30.4 percent on the power play. Wisconsin is third in the nation in power play goals with 28 total power play goals and fourth in the nation on power play percentage. The Huskies have let in 11 power play goals on 72 chances for a 84.7 percent on the penalty kill.
