SCSU Softball Gains Two Wins on Day Four of Spring Games

Clermont, Florida – The St. Cloud State softball team took to the field in Clermont, Florida this morning for the 2015 National Training Center Spring Games. The Huskies defeated Lees-McRae 7-4 and Queens College 7-2.
St. Cloud State improves 11-7 overall.

The Huskies had three runs in the third inning with Brianne Hightshoe (Iowa City, Iowa) scoring, Megan Lehnen (Burnsville, Minn.) and Abby Bunnell (Maple Grove, Minn.).
The Huskies took advantage of Lee-McRae's devfensive errors in the sixth. Taylor Thomas (Fontana, Calif.) had one double allowing Megan Hedstrom (Palatine, Ill.) and Brooke Klontz (Jackson, Minn.) to score. Taylor Thomas then scored on Lees-McRae's error.
Jessica Goerger (Mankato, Minn.) was two for three behind the plate. Goerger recorded a team-high nine putouts.
Alyssa Coletto (Aurora, Ill.) finished with one hit, one rbi, and six putouts.
Senna Francesconi (Schomberg, Ontario) pitched 5.2 innings for the Huskies. Francesconi finished with five strikeouts, gave up six hits, and walked two batters.
St. Cloud State finished with seven hits, five rbi's, and six assists.

St. Cloud State scored one run in the third inning, three runs in the fourth inning and three in the sixth. Queens College scored their only run in the fourth inning.
The Huskies will return to action tomorrow as they take on Slippery Rock at 3 p.m. and Merrimack College at 5 p.m.
