Three from St. Cloud State Softball Earn CSC Academic All-District® Honors

Beck, Holmes and Roe cited by CSC for academic and athletics performance
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three St. Cloud State Softball student-athletes have been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Softball Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. Junior outfielder Bree Beck (Lakeville, Minn.), junior infielder Brooke Holmes* (Savage, Minn.) and senior infielder Sydney Roe (Davenport, Iowa) were recognized for their success in the classroom and on the field. Beck and Holmes became two-time selections after earning the honors last year, while Roe was a first-time selection.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk (*) and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II Academic All-America® program. Beck, who carries a 3.61 cumulative grade point average as an Elementary/K-6 Education major, earned her second consecutive/overall CSC Academic All-District® honor. She is also a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, an NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honoree and a NSIC All-Academic Team choice.
The Lakeville, Minnesota native was a first team All-NSIC Defensive Team selection after posting 32 putouts with one assist and zero errors in 33 chances for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in conference play.
Holmes has a 3.87 GPA as a Business Economics & Finance double major. She earned her second consecutive/overall CSC Academic All-District® honor after being named to the CSC Academic All-America® Second Team last season. She is also a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, an NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence pick and a NSIC All-Academic Team selection.
The junior infielder was named to the All-NSIC Second Team for the second consecutive season after slashing .344/.457/.490 (.947 OPS) with 33 hits including 10 extra base hits (seven doubles, two triples and one home run) during conference play. She also scored 30 runs, drove in 20 and drew 20 walks while only striking out five times in Northern Sun games.
For the season, the Savage, Minnesota native slashed .327/.433/.469 (.902 OPS) with 64 hits including 18 extra base hits (11 doubles, four triples and three home runs). Additionally, she scored 54 runs, drove in 26 and drew 36 walks while only striking out 11 times. Her 54 runs tied the program record for runs scored in a season. She had a hit streak of seven games and a on-base streak of 17 games which was tied for the longest by any Husky during the season. Holmes also recorded multiple hits in 16 games which was the second most on the team.
Roe graduated with 3.50 cumulative GPA as an Accounting major. It is the first CSC Academic All-District® honor of her career. She is also a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award winner.
In her final season, the senior slashed .295/.397/.470 (.867 OPS) with 64 hits including 16 extra base hits (eight doubles and eight home runs). She also drove in 42 runs and scored 34 more. She posted multiple hits in 13 games which ranked tied for third most on the team and her nine multi-RBI games were also tied for third on the team. During the season, she recorded a hit streak of seven games and a reached-base streak of 16 games.
