SCSU Softball Drops Doubleheader to Upper Iowa, 6-7 & 0-8

St. Cloud State falls to 19-15 overall and 5-5 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa University improves to 10-19 and 5-3 in conference action.
Game One:
Two St. Cloud State players hit homeruns.
Jordin Novak homered to right field in the fourth inning. Novak recorded three RBI.
Jessica Goerger (Mankato, Minn.) hit a homerun the following inning for the Huskies.
Kelly Franks (Stevens Point, Wis.) pitched five innings for St. Cloud State. Franks gave up five hits, walked three, and struck out four batters.
The Huskies finished with nine hits, two doubles, two homeruns, and two stolen bases.
Game Two:
Upper Iowa got on the board early, scoring in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead. The Peacocks scored four runs in the bottom of the second and one in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
Tricia DeBoer (Blooming Prairie, Minn.) recorded the only hit for the Huskies.
Megan Hedstrom (Palatine, Ill.) pitched three innings for the Huskies. Hedstrom gave up one hit and one earned run.
St. Cloud State will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they Huskies travel to Winona, Minn. to take on Winona State. The Warriors are currently 26-7 overall and 8-0 in the NSIC.
