Indoor Track & Field Team Travels to Minnesota Open This Weekend

St. Cloud, Minn. – After a few weeks off for the holidays, the St. Cloud State indoor track & field program competes again this weekend at the Minnesota Open hosted by the University of Minnesota at University Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 14, with field events starting at 11 a.m. and running events beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The Huskies competed in three different meets in early December with junior Natalie Gottschalk placing fourth in the pentathlon at the SDSU Holiday Open with her NCAA provisional qualifying total of 3,385 points.
Senior Sam Sunstrom ran at the meet by College of St. Scholastica and earned fourth place in the 3,000m with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 10:01.97.
Senior Patience Yalartai won a pair of events at the Chuck Petersen Open with her long jump of 5.66m/18'07.00 and her triple jump of 12.16m/39'10.75. Both leaps were also NCAA provisional qualifying marks. Yalartai won the long jump last season at this event with her jump of 5.44m
Senior Kristen Wendt finished second in the 300m dash at Chuck Petersen with her time of 44.41, while junior McKenzie Holt placed third in the 3,000m at the meet with her time of 10:56.24.
This weekend the SCSU delegation includes:
