Yalartai and Holt Both Win Events At the MSU Multi/Open To Lead Indoor Track & Field Program

Mankato, Minn. – Senior Patience Yalartai and junior McKenzie Holt both picked up an event victory to lead the St. Cloud State indoor track & field program at the MSU Multi/Open over the weekend in the Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minn.

The program had eight total top-five finishes and a pair of event victories during the two-day event.
Yalartai won the long jump with her leap of 5.77m/18'11.25". The mark was an NCAA Provisional qualifying standard and her third event win in the long jump this season.
Holt won the 5,000m with her time of 18:27.90. Junior teammate Zia Matti placed fourth in the event (20:10.32).

Senior Sam Sunstrom was the runner-up in the 3,000m (10:11.36). Freshman Christina Lofgren placed fourth in the same event (10:39.36).

The 4x400 relay group of junior Emily Yeager, senior Jasmine Grant, senior Rachel Sakry and freshman Autumn Shurbert-Hetzel finished third overall in their event (4:07.97).
Sakry also finished fifth individually in the 1000m (3:08.58).

Additionally, Grant had a fifth-place ranking in the 400m dah (59.88).
Next, the SCSU indoor team comes back to Mankato, Minn. next weekend to take part in the Ted Nelson Classic on Saturday, Feb. 4.
