St. Cloud State women's tennis ends season with 5-2 loss to Winona State

The St. Cloud State University women's tennis team completed its 2017 with a 5-2 loss to #3 seed Winona State in the semifinal round of the NSIC championships. The match was held at the Lifetime Fitness Tennis Complex in Minnetonka.
The #7 seed Huskies gained a trip to the semifinals of the NSIC championships thanks to a 5-4 victory over #2 seed Upper Iowa in the first round. SCSU finishes its 2017 season with a 12-8 record and a 6-5 record in the NSIC during the regular season.
The Huskies collected their two points against WInona State with a 6-0, 6-0 victory by Alexie Portz at fifth singles and a 6-3, 7-5 win by Ann Marie White at sixth singles. Winona won all three doubles positions and then added wins at first and second singles to ice the win. The Huskies' matches at third and fourth singles were unfinished.
The complete results from the match are listed below. Of note, Augustana University went on to win the NSIC tournament title with a 5-0 victory over Winona State in the title match on April 23.
