St. Cloud State Defeats Bemidji State 3-0 in U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game

BRAINERD, MINN. - The St. Cloud State University Huskies (5-11-1, 2-8-0 WCHA) took down the Bemidji State University Beavers (2-12-1, 2-7-1 WCHA) 3-0 in a Tuesday night game at the Brainerd Essential Health Sports Center in the special U.S Hockey Hall of Fame Game.Â

St. Cloud scored a goal a period and kept the Beavers out of the blue paint through the game. Hallie Theodosopoulos got the scoring started just a minute and seven seconds into the game, with assists from Hannah Bates and Taytum Geier.

Senior Julia Tylke scored her seventh goal of the season 55 seconds into the second period, assisted by Jenniina Nylund.

The Huskies' Ivy Dynek then topped off the win at 17:03 in the third period to finish the game 3-0 against BSU. Dynek's goal was unassisted and was her first goal of the season.

St. Cloud State goaltender Janine Alder stopped 36 shots in the game to complete the shutout; the Beaver's Kerigan Dowhy had 21 saves. Final shots on goal from today's game were SCSU 24, BSU 36. St. Cloud went 0-2 on the power play and 2-0 on the penalty kill.

Following the game the players were presented with an award as the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Face-off Classic Women's Champions. The women's hockey players also met with and signed autographs for kids and local youth hockey players attending the game. All proceeds from the game went to the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen in Brainerd. This organization helps families in need by serving hot meals seven days a week.

The Huskies will enjoy the holiday weekend off and return to the rink to prepare for a pair of road games. St. Cloud travels to Bemidji, MN Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 to get back into WCHA play.
