
Women's Hockey travels to Bemidji to play road series against Beavers

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS: The Beavers and Huskies are familiar with each other after just having played Tuesday, Nov. 20 in Brainerd, MN for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Faceoff Classic. In that game, SCSU shutout Bemidji 3-0, scoring a goal per-period and junior goaltender Janine Alder posting a shutout. Previous to that game, Bemidji was swept in a weekend road series against Wisconsin. The Beavers were shutout 5-0 Friday, Nov. 16 and 3-0 Saturday, Nov. 17.
BSU's point leaders this season are Clair DeGeorge (4g-2a) and Emily Bergland (2g-4a). Goaltenders Kerigan Dowhy (2-7-0, 3.31 GAA, .895 SV%) and Lauren Bench (0-5-1, 3.17 GAA, .883 SV%) have split time through most of this season.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Bemidji State has a leading record of 39-38-9 against St. Cloud State.
LAST WEEK: The SCSU Huskies shutout Bemidji State 3-0 in the Tuesday night U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Faceoff Classic Nov. 20. Huskies point scorers of the game were Hallie Theodosopoulos (1g), Julia Tylke (1g), Ivy Dynek (1g), Hannah Bates (1a), Taytum Geier (1a), and Jenniina Nylund (1a). SCSU totaled 24 SOG in the matchup and the Huskies' goaltender Janine Alder made 36 saves. St. Cloud went 0-2 on the power play and 2-0 on the penalty kill.
Shot Blockers: St. Cloud State ranks second in the nation for team saves with 632 this season. Goaltenders Emma Polusny (So.) and Janine Alder (Jr.) have split most of their time on the ice this season. Polusny is 3-4-0 and Alder is 2-7-1 on the season. Of note, Polusny had a career-high 48 save game on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Special Teams: The Huskies also rank fourth in the conference on the power play (13.2%) going 5 for 38 – senior forward Hannah Potrykus is the Huskies' leading power play scorer with three goals this season, which is tied for second most in the WCHA.
