
Women's Hockey geared up to play last home series of the regular season

About the Series:Â The Huskies are 1-2-0 against Bemidji so far this season. BSU holds an all-time leading record of 41-38-9 against the Huskies.Â
 Scouting the Bulldogs: In their last games, the Beavers come off of a road series split against Ohio State in Columbus. BSU won on Friday, Feb. 8 with a 3-2 score and fell to the Buckeyes on Saturday 1-5. Leading point scorers for the Beavers are Clair DeGeorge (8-10-18pts), Emily Bergland (6-9-15pts), Jacqueline Kaasa (7-7-14pts), and Paige Beebe 7-6-13pts). Two of the Beaver's goaltenders have played the majority of the games this season; Lauren Bench (18 GP) has posted a 2.37 GAA and a .914 SV% while Kerigan Dowhy (13 GP) has recorded a season 2.90 GAA and a .901 SV%. BSU is ranked first in the WCHA with an 88.0% penalty kill going 66/75 this season.
Last Games Out:Â St. Cloud State played in three WCHA games in the past week. The Huskies took on MSU Mankato at home Tuesday, February 5th. In that game SCSU won with a final score of 4-1. The team posted 29 SOG, goaltender Emma Polusny made 42 saves, and SCSU went 1-1 on the power play.
SCSU travelled to Duluth, MN and split on the road against the Bulldogs with final scores of 2-4 (L) on Friday and 3-2 (W) Saturday. Nine different skaters posted a point or more on the weekend's scoresheet for SCSU. The Huskies totaled 52 SOG in the weekend series, goaltenders Emma Polusny (Friday - 43) and Janine Alder (Saturday - 51) combined to make 94 saves in net. St. Cloud went 2-4 on the power play and had a 2-2 penalty kill.
WCHA Goalie-of-the-Week: Janine Alder was named the WCHA Goaltender of the Week on Feb. 12th. Alder started in the Huskies Saturday game at UMD and stopped 51 shots in the Huskies' 3-2 win to surpass her previous season-high save game of 50.
Shot Blockers: St. Cloud State ranks second in the nation for team saves with 1283 this season. Goaltenders Emma Polusny (So.) and Janine Alder (Jr.) have split most of their time on the ice. Polusny is 6-9-1 and Alder is 4-12-1 on the season. Of note, Polusny had a season-high 49 save game on Friday, Feb. 1 against Ohio State, and Alder had a season-high game in saves against the Bulldogs in Duluth with 51 Feb. 9, 2019.
Nationally Ranked Netminding: Goaltender Janine Alder ranks first in the WCHA and sixth in the nation in save percentage. She has allowed 42 goals on 696 shots in 17 games played this season, averaging a .940 SV%. Alder also ranks seventh in WCHA GAA at 2.47.
Saturday's Senior Salute: St. Cloud State's five seniors (Julia Tylke, Ivy Dynek, Hannah Potrykus, Suvi Ollikainen, and Jordan Stewart) will play in their last games at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center Saturday, Feb. 16. The class has combined to play over 560 games in their career and posted over 145 points in the past four years. Tylke will leave SCSU as one of the Huskies top 11 leading scorers.
