Huskies score 4-3 victory over Southwest Minnesota State on Feb. 23

The St. Cloud State University women's tennis team (2-5, 2-4 NSIC) returned to the win column on Saturday, Feb. 23 with a 4-3 victory over NSIC rival Southwest Minnesota State in a match played at the indoor courts in St. Peter, Minn.

In singles play, SCSU gained victories at first singles by Fernanda Morais Quintino dos Santos (6-1, 6-2) and at third singles by Melissa Nierenhausen (3-6, 6-4 and 6-3). The Huskies' Jill Kedrowski added a 6-1, 6-2 win at #5 singles before a win at #6 singles by Olivia Fredrickson (6-0, 7-5) clinched the win for SCSU. In doubles play, Kedrowski and Quintino dos Santos posted a 6-2 win at first doubles for SCSU.

SCSU will continue its season with matches in Sioux Falls, S.D. at Sioux Falls on March 2 and Augustana on March 3.
