Episode 5 of the NSIC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Spotlight features St. Cloud State University junior Cassidy Lehrke. She joins NSIC Assistant Commissioner Nick Kornder to discuss her role on the student-athlete advisory committee and the Huskies' initiatives for the year; gives an update on the SCSU soccer team and how they are giving back to the St. Cloud community; and what made St. Cloud State the perfect fit for her.
The NSIC SAAC Spotlight is a Zoom interview with a fall sport SAAC student-athlete from each NSIC institution. Discussion will include, but not limited to, what they are doing to stay positive after their fall season was cancelled, how they are leading during these unprecedented times, and what they have learned about themselves and their teammates during the pandemic. These interviews will be posted to social media accounts on Tuesdays at noon.
About the NSIC
The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders. Formed in 1992 by the merger of the Northern Intercollegiate Conference (men's league) and the Northern Sun Conference (women's league), the NSIC has flourished over the past quarter century, maturing into a 16-team union of Upper Midwest colleges and universities.
