SCSU women's tennis continues AZ success with 7-0 win over Pima CC

The St. Cloud State University women's tennis team improved to 5-7 on the season with a 7-0 victory over Pima Community College on Wednesday, March 11 in Tucson, Ariz.

The Huskies' Mirei Ichida led the way with a 6-4, 6-1 at first singles, while Shanna Kinny added a win at second singles and Jill Kedrowski posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at third singles. Olivia Fredrickson (6-0, 6-0) won at fourth singles and Katherine Muntifering scored a 6-1, 6-2 win at fifth singles. Abby Scheck completed the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at sixth singles for the Huskies.

In doubles play, Kedrowski and Ichia won at first doubles and the duo of Fredrickson and Kinny won 8-2 at second doubles. To cap the day, Scheck and Claire Olson scored a 8-0 win at third doubles for SCSU.

SCSU will complete its road trip to Arizona with a match at Ottawa University on March 12 in Surpise, Ariz.
