
Huskies Track and Field looks ahead to NSIC Indoor Championships in Mankato

St. Cloud State Track and Field begins indoor postseason play this Saturday with the NSIC Indoor Championships in Mankato, Minnesota. The Championships will be held at the Myers Field House, with competition beginning at noon CST.
13 Huskies are slated to compete at the Championships, with Emelia Burris, Gracie Elsenpeter and Parker Buske each scheduled for two events.
Burris will represent SCSU in the 60 Meter Dash, ranking fifth in the NSIC regular season with a 7.65 time at the Fred Baker Triangular. Makayla Rice is SCSU's competitor in the 400 Meter Dash, while Leighten Fischer will compete in the 600 Meter Run. Fischer is one of SCSU's top-ten ranked athletes in NSIC regular season action, posting the eighth-best mark of 1:38.37 in the 600 at the Devine-Remitz Triangular.
In the 60 Meter Hurdles, Gracie Elsenpeter is the Huskies' choice as she finished top-ten in the conference with a 9.15 time at the Craig Hougen Triangular.Â
Two Huskies---Julia Rowles and Claire Shea---are slated to compete in the High Jump. Shea ranks in the NSIC's top-fifteen with a regular season leap of 1.63 meters at the Craig Hougen Triangular, while Rowles slots in the top 20 Northern Sun jumpers.
Elsenpeter and Emma Gauert will each represent SCSU in the Pole Vault. Both Huskies are ranked in the top 11, with Elsenpeter at eighth with a 3.30-meter mark and Gauert at 11 with 3.24.
Parker Buske and Emelia Burris both line up in the Long Jump for the Huskies. Burris sits at second in the conference with an outstanding 5.86 meter stretch. Buske will compete in her second event along with Maya Taylor in the Triple Jump, where SCSU again has two athletes in the NSIC's top 11. Buske ranks third in the conference with a mark of 11.79 meters at the Devine-Remitz Triangular, while Taylor is 11th with a 11.25 mark at the same event.
Ninth-ranked Annie Falardreau and Dominique Buechel are the Huskies' competitors in the Shot Put. Falardreau's best toss of 13.40 meters places her in the top 10.
Rounding out the competition schedule for the Huskies is No. 3 Faith Lubner and No. 8 Jocelyn Johnson in the Pentathlon. Lubner put up 3471 points in the Ted Nelson Multis, and Johnson owns a 3043 score from the Devine-Remitz Triangular.
