
Nine Huskies contributed to SCSU's scoring in the NSIC Indoor Championships
Track and Field places seventh at NSIC Indoor Championships, Burris and Lubner earn All-NSIC Honors

St. Cloud State Women's Track and Field placed seventh at the 2021 NSIC Indoor Championships held in Mankato on Saturday. Seniors Emelia Burris and Faith Lubner each earned All-NSIC honors by finishing second in the Long Jump and Pentathlon respectively. SCSU earned 27 team points to finish in the top half of the conference.
Burris scored eight points with a second-place finish in the Long Jump, leaping 5.70 meters in the finals. Lubner likewise added eight with a 3427-point Pentathlon finals showing.
The Huskies' standout senior Burris also competed in the 60 Meters, finishing in eighth with a 7.71 second run to finish with nine points overall. SCSU's 4x400 Relay team of Cassidy Lackovic, Makayla Rice, Kaylee Gessay and Leighten Fischer finished seventh to add to the scoring. Claire Shea scored a pair of points with a seventh-place 1.61 meter finish in the High Jump, Parker Buske added four with a 11.46 meter fifth-placing Triple Jump, and Dominique Buechel rounded out the scoring with a 13.48 meter Shot Put that fell seventh in the finals.
Currently, the Huskies have three athletes maintaining NCAA DII Provisional Qualifing marks ahead of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 11-13 in Birmingham, Alabama. Emelia Burris ranks ninth in the Long Jump and 20th in the 60 Meters; Faith Lubner is No. 11 in the 60 Hurdles and No. 12 in the Pentathlon; and Parker Buske rounds out the trio with a No. 19 Triple Jump ranking.
