SCSU Track & Field returns to Winona for River City Rumble

St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field will be making their second trip of the Outdoor Season to Winona on Saturday, April 24 for the River City Rumble. The meet will be held at Paul Giel Field and is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. CST.
The Huskies will be competing against athletes from Winona State, Bemidji State, Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State, Minnesota-Duluth and UW-La Crosse.
Scheduled Competitors
SCSU will be traveling with a smaller group of athletes this weekend, beginning in the Field Events as Dominique Buechel will throw in the Discus and Hammer Throw. Buechel has won back-to-back Discus events and stands second in the NSIC with an NCAA Provisional mark of 49.50m recorded in Winona this season. Emma Gauert and Gracie Elsenpeter are the Huskies' Pole Vaulters, both ranking in the Top 10 in the NSIC while Gauert is fresh off clearing a career-best 3.35m at the Holst Invitational. St. Cloud State's four High Jump competitors will be Shantelle Des Marais, Claire Shea, Jocelyn Johnson and Julia Rowles.
Moving to the Track Events, Alexis Fallow will be competing in both the 100 and 200 Meter Dash. She'll be joined in the 200 Meter by Kaylee Gessay, who is also double-entered in the 400 Meter Dash with Cassidy Lackovic. Johnson is SCSU's choice in the 100 Meter Hurdles, while Makayla Rice and Karla Encarnacion will go in the 400 Meter Hurdles. Continuing with the long distance runs, Katelin Prinsen will compete in the 800 Meter Run while Cheresa Bouley and Isabella Kraft will represent the Huskies in the 1500 Meter Run. SCSU's 4x400 Relay team of Rice, Lackovic, Encarnacion and Bouley will close out the meet in the final event of the day.
