ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The countdown is officially on. With the calendar turning, the St. Cloud State University softball team is officially on the clock with practices on the way in the Husky Dome. With the season opener exactly one month away, the Huskies announced their 2022 schedule Tuesday afternoon.Â
St. Cloud State's schedule will look a little more "normal" this season, as the team is slated to play in four national and regional tournaments before opening conference play in late March. The Huskies will open the season February 11 when they host the annual Kelly Laas Invite February 11-13 in the Husky Dome. St. Cloud State will also partake in the Washburn Invite in Topeka, Kansas February 25-26, the Spring Game in Florida March 7-11 and the Missouri Western Invite in St. Joseph, Missouri March 18-19.Â
In addition to their nonconference schedule, the Huskies will play 15 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheaders from March 29 to May 1. If the weather cooperates, seven of the 15 doubleheaders will take place at Selke Field. St. Cloud State will open the NSIC schedule on the road, as the team is slated to face Minnesota-Duluth in Duluth, Minnesota on March 29.Â
More information regarding tournament opponents, tickets and attendance policies will be published on the athletic department's official website scsuhuskies.com. At this time, all fans in attendance will be required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status at games taking place inside the Husky Dome. Schedule changes and updates will be posted to the website as well.
