Fredrickson Named NSIC Elite 18 Award winner before the match
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (9-11, 4-6 NSIC) fell to Augustana, 4-0, in the quarterfinals on the NSIC Tournament on Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D. Before the match, senior Olivia Fredrickson (Fridley, Minn.) was named the NSIC Elite 18, and award given to recognize the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the NSIC Championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
DOUBLES
The Huskies dropped matches at the No. 2 and 3 spots to lose the doubles point. At the No. 1 spot, freshman Maria Paz Aoki (Marcos Paz, Argentina) and freshman Claudia Munoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain) were still in the match when it was stopped due to the doubles point being clinched.
SINGLES
In singles competition, the Vikings won at the No. 1, 2 and 6 spots to clinch the match. Junior Shanna Kinny (Litchfield, Minn.) trailed 6-1, 5-1, to Laura Arce Vieyra when the match was stopped.
