
Four Huskies earn All-NSIC Honors

Estrada, Junker, Vanden Langenberg, and Weinberger named to Second Team
BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Four student-athletes from the St. Cloud State softball team earned All-NSIC honors Tuesday afternoon, as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced its all-conference honors. Graduate designated player Jasmin Estrada, senior pitcher Trinity Junker, graduate shortstop Raven Vanden Langenberg, and senior outfielder Holly Weinberger were named to the All-NSIC Second Team.

Estrada earned All-NSIC honors for the fourth time in her career and became the first four-time All-NSIC honoree in program history, garnering Second Team honors as the team's designated player. The graduate slashed .340/.397/.604 this season appearing and starting in all 49 games for the Huskies. In 159 at-bats, Estrada tallied 54 hits while leading the team in RBI driving in 38 with 15 doubles and nine home runs and was named NSIC Player of the Week (Mar. 20). Additionally, Estrada established herself as the program's new all-time career RBI leader. Estrada broke the previous mark of 161 thanks to a walk-off three-run home run in the Huskies win over Concordia-St. Paul on Mar. 17, 2023.

Junker earned All-NSIC honors for the second time in her career and was named to Second Team after another impressive year for the Huskies. Serving as St. Cloud State's ace, Junker compiled a record of 15-7 during the regular season with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.16 which ranked her fifth in the conference. Additionally, she tallied 160 strikeouts in 139.1 innings pitched with five shutouts on the season and was named NSIC Pitcher of the Week twice (Feb. 14, & Mar. 6). Junker made her mark in Huskies history as she became the fifth player in program history to record a perfect game which was the first perfect game since the 2017 season. Junker recorded the mark on opening day (Feb. 11, 2023) with a 12-0 five inning shutout against UMary.

Vanden Langenberg made the most of her final season, earning Second Team All-NSIC honors at shortstop becoming the program's second three-time All-NSIC honoree. The shortstop put together another impressive season at the plate slashing .329/.423/.527 while appearing and starting in all 49 games in 2023. She led the team in runs scored (44) while tallying 48 hits, 37 RBIs, 11 doubles, and shot six home runs over the fence. Vanden Langenberg was near perfect with 11 stolen bases out of 13 attempts. Additionally, she ranked top-10 in the conference for runs scored and hit by pitches (10).

Weinberger earned her second consecutive All-NSIC Second Team honor in 2023. Not only was the senior impressive in the outfield, but she also put up impressive numbers at the plate. Weinberger appeared and started in all 49 games while leading the Huskies lineup in batting average (.386) and in 158 at-bats, she tallied a team leading 61 hits. Weinberger marked an OBP of .443 with a .494 slugging percentage with 12 doubles, one triple, and a home run. Additionally, she tallied 33 runs and 31 RBIs in 2023.Â

Estrada, Junker, Vanden Langenberg, Weinberger and the rest of the Huskies will be back in action this week as they are set to start postseason play. St. Cloud State will compete in the NSIC Tournament with their first matchup against Minnesota State on May 3 at 12:00 p.m. CT in Rochester, Minnesota.Â
