
St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Adds Eight to Class of 2025

Huskies adds eight highly decorated recruits from four states within the region
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer announced the addition of eight early signees to the Class of 2025 who chose to continue their academic and athletic careers at St. Cloud State University. Head Coach Gretta Macdonald and assistant coach Jade Smith added future Huskies from the states of Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa and Illinois. The talented group has earned numerous all-conference and all-state honors while helping their high school and clubs teams compete at elite levels.
"Our program is super excited to welcome this dynamic and talented group of individuals," said Macdonald. "Each athlete has accomplished a great deal already in their athletic careers and are great individuals away from the field. We are excited for what they will bring to our program in the years to come, both on and off the pitch. The high caliber level of soccer they have played at the club level has prepared them well to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level."
McKenna Breunig – Forward – Sauk City, Wis. – Sauk Prairie High School – Madison 56ers
A four-year starter and two-year captain for Sauk Prairie High School in Sauk City, Wis., McKenna Breunig joins the Huskies as an offensive-minded athlete who can play as a forward or midfielder. Entering her senior soccer season, Breunig has recorded 45 goals and back-to-back all-conference honors, earning a first team selection as a sophomore and honorable mention as a junior. She also earned all-area player of the year honors as a sophomore and first-team all-area honors as a junior. Breunig's Sauk Prairie team qualified for the state tournament in her freshman and sophomore seasons and captured a conference title as a junior. In the classroom, Breunig earned honor roll selections all four years. At the club level, Breunig plays for the Madison 56ers.
Gigi Fiorelli – Midfielder – Highlands Ranch, Colo. – Rock Canyon High School – Real Colorado ECNL
A four-year letterwinner and captain of her high school team, Gigi Forelli joins St. Cloud State from one of Colorado's most successful high school programs in recent memory. Fiorelli helped Rock Canyon High School finish runner-up in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024, recording two goals and seven points while being named captain. She was also a two-year captain of her club team, Real Colorado Athletico and is a four-year recipient of the academic honor roll.
Zoe Fujino – Goalkeeper – Palatine, Ill. – William Fremd High School – Sockers FC Chicago GA
Hailing from William Fremd High School in Palatine, Ill., and Sockers FC Chicago for club, Zoe Fujino joins the Huskies as a goalkeeper. Fujino earned an invite to the 2024 Mid-America Girls Academy Talent event. In the classroom, Fujino has earned Academic All-Conference recognition.
Laney Haviland – Midfielder – West Des Moines, Iowa – Waukee High School – VSA Rush GA
A three-year varsity letterwinner for Waukee High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, Laney Haviland joins the Huskies as a defender/midfielder. She earned three all-conference honorable mention honors and played for VSA Rush in club. In the classroom, Haviland earned first team academic all-state honors and national honor society recognition.
Sophie Loeffler – Defender – Ankeny, Iowa – Ankeny High School – Sporting Iowa ECNL
An all-conference and all-state honoree for Ankeny High School, Sophie Loeffler will add to the already extremely talented defensive line for the Huskies. A three-year letterwinner with her senior season still to come, Loeffler has helped Ankeny reach the state semifinals as a freshman and state quarterfinals as a junior. She earned all-conference third team as a sophomore before all-conference all-district and all-state honors as a junior in 2024. In the classroom, Loeffler is a three-year academic letterwinner, National Honor Society member and has earned IHSAA Distinguished Academic Achievement and CIML All-Academic recognition. At the club level, Loeffler plays for Sporting Iowa.
Bella Maerscbecker – Forward – Parker, Colo. – Legend High School – Pride Predators ECNL
A forward from Colorado, Bella Maerscbecker played for Legend High School and the Pride Predators for club. She earned all-conference honorable mention honors on the pitch and academic all-conference honors in the classroom.
MacKenzie McCorkle – Forward – Falcon, Colo. – Rampart High School – Pride Predators ECNL
MacKenzie McCorkle, a midfielder from Rampart High School and Pride Predators in Falcon, Colo., is a three-year letterwinner who earned first-team all-conference as a junior. McCorkle has scored two or more goals and led her team to state tournament appearances in each of her seasons on varsity, including an eight-goal and 21-point performance as a junior in 2024. In the classroom, McCorkle earned two academic honor roll honors, two Certificates of Merit and was named to the Dean's list twice.
Chloe Orlow – Midfielder – Naperville, Ill. – Neuqua Valley High School – Galaxy SC GA
A defender with multiple all-sectional honorees, Chloe Orlow joins the Huskies from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Ill. Orlow was named to the Dupage Valley All-Conference team in 2023, the Naperville North All-Tournament Team in 2024 and was named to the All-Sectional Team in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024. She also helped Neuqua Valley earn an Illinois Regional Championship in 2022.
