Caputo scores goal in third consecutive game

St. Cloud, Minn.- St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (2-2-0) got back to .500 on the year after beating the University of Jamestown 3-1 Tuesday evening. It was a defensive first half for both teams as neither team could find the back of the net. The game would be tied 0-0 going into half, but the Huskies drew first blood in the 54th minute as Austin Plumhoff skipped a pass to Rhys Ward who dribbled up the field and beat the keeper to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. That play sparked the St. Cloud State offense as a minute later on a corner kick, Eduardo Balduino found Philip Caputo deep in the box and he punched it in, extending the Huskies lead to 2-0. 10 minutes later, the Huskies would have another corner kick that found its way to Mika Folstad who dished it down to Abdi Isse who knocked the ball in off his left foot to put the Huskies up 3-0. Jamestown would score in the 69th minute to set the score at 3-1, but St. Cloud State would come out victorious.

Philip Caputo recorded his third consecutive game where he has scored a goal, tying the longest streak in program history. Caputo knocked in his fifth goal of the season and is up to a team-high 13 points on the year.
Rhys Ward scored his first goal of the season and notched his third points of the year.
Abdi Isse scored his first career goal while recording his first points of the season.
