
St. Cloud State Wrestling Ranked Eighth in Inaugural NWCA Poll

Three Huskies Ranked Inside the Top Three
Manheim, PA. – St. Cloud State Wrestling was ranked as the No. 8 team in Division II via the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll Thursday afternoon. The Huskies hoist three ranked wrestlers who all are ranked inside the top three at their respective weight class.
St. Cloud State accumulated 42 points in the rankings to come in at number eight. Reigning national champion Nebraska-Kearney holds the number one spot with 73 points and were followed by Lander (68.5), Pitt-Johnstown (54), Tiffin (49), Grand Valley State (48), and Wisconsin-Parkside (48) in the top five.
Three Huskies come into the season ranked with redshirt junior Joel Jesuroga, redshirt senior Bryce Dagel, and redshirt sophomore Cole Glazier placing in the top three of their weight classes.
Joel Jesuroga enters his second season with the Huskies after an outstanding inaugural campaign and is ranked No. 2 at 157 pounds. Jesuroga went 26-1 wrestling at 157 with 15 bonus point wins. He produced seven ranked wins throughout the year as he went on to be the National Runner-Up. Along the way, Jesuroga earned First Team All-NSIC, a Super Region V Title, and All-American honors.
After a breakout year a season ago, Bryce Dagel enters the season ranked No. 3 at 174 pounds. Dagel produced a 27-5 record at 174 with 13 bonus point wins. He tacked on six wins against ranked wrestlers including a 17-3 win against the reigning National Champion during the NCAA Tournament. Dagel qualified for the NCAA Tournament after a Title at Super Region V. He ultimately went on to place fourth after entering the tournament as the three seed. The Eden Prairie native would earn All-American honors as well as First Team All-NSIC.
After previously wrestling at 174 pounds, Cole Glazier moved up to 184 and comes in at No. 3 in the class. Glazier went 15-4 wrestling at 174 last year with nine bonus point victories. The year prior as a true freshman, Glazier went 30-5 with 22 bonus point wins as he placed eighth at the NCAA Tournament to capture All-American honors. He also was named Second Team All-NSIC and placed third at Super Region V.
St. Cloud State will kick off their season on October 30 with the annual Black & Red Classic. They will begin dual season with the Grand Valley State Duals on November 21 and start conference duals on December 5 against Jamestown.
