2012: Started and played in all 52 games at third base for the Huskies during her junior season…batted .274 in 157 at-bats…scored eight runs after posting 43 hits…had eight doubles…hit two home runs…drove in 24 runs…57 total bases recorded…recorded a .345 on-base percentage…drew 17 walks…stole one bases…led the team with 126 assists defensively…posted 40 putouts and a .922 fielding percentage.

BEFORE SCSU: Grell will transfer in from Indian Hills Community College (Ottumwa, Iowa) where she played softball for the NJCAA Division I Warriors...as a rookie in college, Grell helped lead her squad to the 2010 National Tournament in St. George, Utah...an All-Academic Second Team honoree, Grell’s team also captured the District and Regional Championship that same year....earned All-Region First Team status in 2011, as well as 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA DI All-Midwest Second Team accolades...completed the season with a .371 batting average and six home runs.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Woodbury Central High School in Moville, Iowa...Grell was an all-around standout athlete who started varsity at third base since the eighth grade...amassed a .433 batting average during her senior stint in 2009, along with nine home runs to help lift her prep squad to back-to-back Northwest Iowa Conference Championships with a perfect 20-0 undefeated conference tally...during Grell’s tenure, WCHS charted three conference titles, two district championships and a fifth place finish at the Iowa State High School Tournament...individually, Grell earned an All-State Honorable Mention nod, as well as All-Conference and All-District selections three times in her career.

PERSONAL: Grell plans to major in social work at St. Cloud State...enjoys hanging out with friends and family, listening to music and playing sports in her free time.
