2013: Franks pitched 228 innings for the Huskies and finished with a record of 20-15 and an earned run average of 1.69. Franks struck out an impressive 275 opposing hitters during the season. She was named to the 2013 All-NSIC Second Team for her success on the mound.
2012: Made 16 starts and 32 appearances as a freshman fireballer…owned a team-best 2.11 ERA…went 10-9 overall…threw eight complete games…one save…126.1 innings pitched…faced 464 batters…allowed opponents to hit just .222 against her…led the team with 142 strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL: The daughter of Billie Brahmstead, Kelly Franks was coached by Tom Drohner at Stevens Point Area Senior High School for five years....a right-handed pitcher, Franks earned four varsity letters and was named her team’s Newcomer of the Year in 2007...during her sophomore stint, Franks went 9-0 from the circle with a 0.510 earned run average to help lead the Panthers to a 2009 Wisconsin State Championship...that same season she struck out 101 opponents in 55.7 innings pitched and gave up just a small total of five runs and 29 hits... during her junior season, Franks put together an impressive 22-2 record in 2010...she charted a career best 0.50 ERA and a school record 183 strikeouts in 154 innings pitched...Franks surrendered a mere 11 earned runs while garnering 14 shutouts and seven no-hitters.
PERSONAL: Franks, who set three school records at Stevens Point Area Senior High School, enjoys reading, watching movies, participating in outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends during her free time...plans to major in chemistry at St. Cloud State.
