2011: Pitched 47.0 innings for the Huskies as a first year player…garnered first career strikeout against Minnesota, Crookston on Feb. 27 and went on to tab a personal best five K’s in that game against the Golden Eagles…that same game she earned her first collegiate victory from the circle…was .500 in 2011 with a 2-2 mark for the Huskies and a 3.57 earned run average…totaled 20 strikeouts in 2011…made one plate appearance against Lees-McRae on March 12…totaled 18 fielding assists.
HIGH SCHOOL: A native of Chicago, Ill...was a member of the Lane Technical College Prep High School where she lettered four times and was named a team co-captain since her ninth grade season...athree-time All-Conference player before her senior season...helped lead her prep squad to three straight conference titles also before senior season...in 2008 and 2009 she batted .378 as a junior and .368 as a sophomore and posted on-base percentages and slugging percentages above .400...for her efforts, Manrique landed herself on the All-State, All-Region and All-Area top teams...during the summer months, Manrique played softball with the Illinois Heatwave 18U squad as an outfielder, utility player and at first base...swung for a solid .373 batting average and .450 on-base percentage in 2009...in 55 at-bats she mustered 19 hits, two triples, 14 runs batted in and 15 runs scored.
PERSONAL: Off the field, Manrique was a three-year member of the Leterman’s Club and was recruited to play on Team America, which is a college team that represents American softball talent overseas...was able to travel to Italy with Team America in August of 2009 to play softball...the daughter of Xavier and Jan Manrique...plans to major in business administration at St. Cloud State University.
