2013: Merritt threw 120 inninngs for the Huskies during the 2013 season... finished with a record of 8-10 on the mound. Merritt had an earned run average of 4.42 and struck out 90 opposing hitters.
2012: Started a team-high 24 games in the pitchers circle as a freshman…made 34 total appearances…owned a 3.50 ERA…posted an 11-12 overall record…threw 10 complete games…one save…led the team with 164 innings pitched…had 82 strikeouts…faced a team-high 644 batters.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Fort Lupton High School in Fort Lupton, Colo., in the spring of 2011...the 5’6” prep pitcher was a four-time letter winner in softball...gained All-Conference accolades all four high school seasons and was also a three-time All-Academic award winner...during her senior stint with the Blue Devils, Merritt hit .607 with 43 runs batted in...she added 10 doubles, nine triples and four home runs, including her first career grand slam...helped lead her team to its fourth consecutive Regional State Tournament with a 14-8 overall mark...accumulated an impressive .78 earned run average from the circle during the same span...during the summer in 2010, Merritt led her Next Level team, based out of Arvada, Colo., to an AFA National Championship...for her efforts, she was named to the All-Tournament team...completed the summer with 28 wins and six losses and a 2.41 ERA from the circle...hit .333 with seven doubles and six triples...the prep pitcher also competed at the 2005 Triple Crown World Series, the 2007 ASA Nationals, the 2008 ASA Northern Nationals and the 2009 ASA Western Nationals.
PERSONAL: The daughter of Tony and Teresa Merritt...served as the Vice President of the National Honor Society...enjoys volunteering for youth organizations throughout the Fort Lupton community...also enjoys sports, traveling, meeting new people and spending time with her friends and family...plans to pursue a degree in finance at St. Cloud State.
