Bio
2021: This will be LaPoint's third season with the Huskies.
2020: LaPoint was the ace of the St. Cloud State's pitching staff in 2020, making 11 appearances with eight starts in the circle for the Huskies. In 11 games, LaPoint pitched a team-leading 54.0 innings and posted a win-loss record of 7-0 with four complete games and two shutouts. She was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week in mid-March after pitching back-to-back complete games and compiling an impressive 3-0 record in that time. At the end of the season, LaPoint led the team with 40 strikeouts and surrendered just six walks during the season.
2019: In her first season, LaPoint appeared in 34 games as a pitcher for the Huskies, primarily serving as the team's second game starter. In 34 games, LaPoint pitched 126.1 total innings and compiled a win-loss record of 13-8 during the season with six complete games and two shutouts. She earned the first win of her collegiate career on February 2, in St. Cloud State's 9-1 wn over Wisconsin-Parkside and tallied a career-high nine strikeouts in a 5-0 win over Rockhurst on March 11. LaPoint was one out away from pitching a perfect game in the Huskies 14-0 win over Minnesota-Crookston on April 16 and concluded the season with 84 strikeouts.
High School: Prior to joining St. Cloud State, LaPoint put together an impressive career at Bay Port High School. Hey was a 4x varsity letter winner in softball and graduated as the school record holder for career strikeouts (658). LaPoint was a 3x All-Conference, 3x All-District and 2x All-State athlete was selected to play in the Wisconsin State Senior All-Star Game and the WSN Senior Pitcher watchlist in 2017. In addition to her impressive high school career, LaPoint won back-to-back national championships with her club team in 2017 and 2016.
Personal: LaPoint chose to attend St. Cloud State because she enjoyed the campus and it felt like home. She is the daughter of Kevin and Stacey LaPoint and plans to major in marketing.
