SCSU Softball Wins Two in Final Day of Kelly Laas Invite

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State softball team won a pair of games Saturday in their final day at the Kelly Laas Memorial Invite. The Huskies defeated Missouri Western State University 10-2 and Fort Hays State University 7-5.
St. Cloud State improves to 5-5 overall.
Missouri Western Recap:
St. Cloud State pitcher Kelly Franks (Stevens Point, Wis.) pitched four innings for the Huskies. Franks recorded four strike outs, gave up one hit and walk two batters.
Alyssa Coletto (Aurora, Ill.) finished with three rbi's, two runs, and one hit.
Jessica Goerger (Mankato, Minn.) led all players with a high nine putouts.
The Huskies finished with 21 at bats, eight hits, and nine rbi's.
Fort Hays Recap:
The Huskies Senna Francesconi (Schomberg, Ontario) pitched six innings. Francesconi struck out three batters, had six walks, and gave up six hits.
Abby Bennell (Maple Grove, Minn.) and Jessica Goerger (Mankato, Minn.) each had three hits. Goerger was three-for-three from behind the plate and had two rbi's.
Alyssa Coletto (Aurora, Ill.) tripled in the second inning, recording two rbi's.
St. Cloud State had 28 at bats and 12 hits against Fort Hays State University.
The Huskies will return to action March 6 in Clermont, Fla. as they face 12 teams throughout the week.
