Huskies Win Two on Day Three of Spring Games

Clermont, Florida – The St. Cloud State softball team competed against Northwood University and East Stroudsburg today at the 2015 National Training Center Spring Games. The Huskies defeated Northwood 4-2 and East Stroudsburg 9-1.
St. Cloud State improves to 9-7 overall.

After giving up a first inning bases loaded hit by pitch to score Northwood's first run the Huskies bats came alive.
Alyssa Coletto (Aurora, Ill.) was 2-3 for the game with a single and a double.
Senior Megan Lehnen (Burnsville, Minn.) also was 2-3. Lehnen hit an RBI single in the third to score Coletto.
Abby Bunnell (Maple Grove, Minn.) and Tricia Deboer (Blooming Prairie, Minn.) also got hits for the Huskies in the third with Bunnell scoring on Northwood's error.
Kelly Franks (Stevens Point, Wis.) pitched 5 innings in which she got 6 strikeouts and was stingy with just 2 hits.
Senna Francesconi (Schomberg, Ontario) came in top sixth and finished the game with Huskies 4 Northwood 2, earning the save.
St. Cloud State will return to action Tuesday, March 10 as they take on Lee-McRae at 9 a.m. and Queens College at 11 a.m.
