Softball Plays Against Northern State, Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State This Week

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State softball team (20-12, 4-2 NSIC) continues Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play by traveling to Northern State (18-11-1, 3-2-1 NSIC) on Tuesday, April 4, in a doubleheader on the road at Moccasin Creek Complex starting at 2 p.m. The program then returns home and continues league play by hosting a pair of NSIC opponents in doubleheaders against Concordia-St. Paul (10-17, 2-4 NSIC) on Saturday, April 8, starting 1 p.m. and against No. 21 Minnesota State (28-4, 6-0 NSIC) on Sunday, April 9, beginning at 1 p.m. The home games are tentatively scheduled to be held outdoors at Selke Field at the moment, but please check scsuhuskies.com later in the week to see if the contests will be changed to the indoor venue of the Husky Dome

Senior Day – Jordin Novak
- This year each of St. Cloud State's seven senior softball players has chosen a day to have their Senior Day on.
- On April 8, senior Jordin Novak will be honored and recognized.
- Novak is an infielder/outfielder from Coon Rapids, Minn. and is a three-year player for SCSU after transferring in from Northern State following her freshman season.
- She has played in 85 games with 66 starts.
- Novak has totaled 21 runs scored, 37 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, a home run, 26 RBIs in her career.
- The daughter of Sheri Novak, Don Novak and Deb Novak.
Senior Day – Brianne Hightshoe
- On April 9, senior Brianne Hightshoe will be honored and recognized
- Hightshoe is an outfielder from Iowa City, Iowa
- She has played in 111 career games with two starts in her four years with the program.
- Hightshoe has crossed the plate 40 times and stolen 16 bases.
- She picked up the first two hits and RBI of her career this season.
- Hightshoe was named to the 2016 NSIC Spring All-Academic Team
- She is the daughter of Tracy and Jeff Hightshoe
- Northern State will be running live stats / live video on their website on Tuesday
- St. Cloud State has live stats for the two home games on Saturday against Concordia-St. Paul and the two home games on Sunday against Minnesota State.
- The Huskies are 27-6 against Northern State in a series that began in 1980
- SCSU has a 27-22 record against Concordia-St. Paul in a series that started during the 1978 season.

- Concordia-St. Paul split its two conference doubleheaders over the weekend with wins over Wayne State on Saturday and losses to Augustana on Sunday.
- The program has been led by Nicole Thompson, who is hitting .418 with 16 runs, 33 hits and eight stolen bases.
- Justine Schattner is hitting .366 with 14 runs, 30 hits, seven doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs
- Carlie Hart is hitting .376 with 16 runs, 32 hits and seven doubles.
- Samantha Sullivan has won five games with 85.1 innings thrown and 45 strikeouts.
- Linzy Heim also has five wins in her 68.2 innings pitched.
- Minnesota State is ranked in each of the polls this week and have won 23 of the last 24 games.
- The program has started NSIC play with sweeps of Concordia-St. Paul, Augustana and Wayne State.

- St. Cloud State went 4-2 last week including four straight wins at home at the Husky Dome to close out the week.
- Jessica Goerger led the team in the six games with her 10 hits and .476 batting average.
- Abby Bunnell tallied a .429 batting average with five runs, nine hits, a triple and five RBIs.
- Alyssa Coletto recorded seven hits, two doubles, a home run and four RBIs plus two walks.
- Morgan Emmans drove in four runs on her four hits.
- Megan Hedstrom went 3-0 and the week was highlighted by her throwing a perfect game against the University of Mary in which she only allowed one ball to be hit out of the infield with four strikeouts.
- Her perfect game was the program's first since Kelly Franks threw one also against the University of Mary during the 2015 season
- Coletto leads the team with her .433 batting average, 39 hits and 11 doubles on the season.
- She is second in the league in doubles, fourth in hits and total bases (64), fifth in on-base percentage (.510) and sixth in batting average and slugging percentage (.711)
- Maya Keating is hitting .385 with 21 runs, 35 hits, 12 stolen bases plus 13 walks and a .472 on-base percentage.
- Keating is sixth in the NSIC in walks, eighth in stolen bases and ninth in hits.
- Emmans has a .352 batting average, six doubles, three home runs and 22 RBIs
- She is sixth in the NSIC with a pair of sacrifice flies and seventh with two triples.
- Jaiden Lund sports a .315 batting average with 19 runs, 29 hits, five home runs and 19 RBIs.
- Lund is sixth in the league in home runs.
- Libby Bingham leads the league in sacrifice bunts with seven.
