
SCSU wrestling to face competitive schedule in 2017-18

Coach Steve Costanzo and his staff are excited to announce the schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 St. Cloud State University Wrestling season. This season marks the 68th year of Huskies wrestling.
The 2017-18 Huskies schedule will offer strong competition from start to finish, as SCSU looks to maintain its spot as one of the nation's top NCAA Division II wrestling programs. SCSU starts off the regular season with its annual Black/Red Classic intrasquad match on Nov. 2. The Huskies will then take to the road competing in their first Open of the season at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. on Nov. 11, followed by the Finn Grinaker Open in Moorhead, Minn. on Nov. 18.
In the first dual meet of the season, the Huskies will face NSIC rival Southwest Minnesota State for a 7 p.m. showdown in Halenbeck Hall on Nov. 30 (Prep Night). The Huskies will close out the first semester at the Newberry College Duals in Newberry, S.C. and then host their final home match, the Holiday Inn/Huskies Open (Parent's Day) on Dec. 9 in the Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse.
St. John's University will open up the second semester of competition on Dec. 28 in Collegeville and then the Huskies are off to Fort Wayne, Ind. to defend their National Dual Meet Championship on Jan. 4-5. Upon their return, the Huskies head to Kenosha, Wisc. for the Ranger Duals before starting a series of NSIC dual meets where they will be looking for to capture SCSU's seventh consecutive conference title.
During the post season stretch, the Huskies will host the NCAA Regional Championships on Feb. 23-24 in Halenbeck Hall before heading to the NCAA DII Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to close out their campaign on March 9-10.
Tickets for all SCSU wrestling matches at home are available at the gate and SCSU students get into all regular season home matches for free.
