Portz collects two wins for SCSU at Bemidji on Feb. 17

The St. Cloud State University women's tennis team (1-5, 1-3 NSIC) ended its trip north on Feb. 17 with a close 5-4 decision at Bemidji State. The Huskies went 1-1 on the day in Bemidji as they opened play in the morning with a 9-0 victory over Minnesota Crookston.
The Huskies were led by senior captain Alexie Portz, who scored wins at second singles and partnered with Fernanda Quintino do Santos for a win at first doubles. Samantha Fitzpatrick (fifth singles) and Abby Scheck (sixth singles) also earned wins for the Huskies.
Complete results for the match vs. Bemidji State are listed below. SCSU will continue its season on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24 with matches in Winona against Upper Iowa and Winona State.
