SCSU Soccer players earn United Soccer Coaches Association Scholar All-Region Awards

St. Cloud State University soccer's Kristine Knief (Ankeny, Iowa), Monica Majeski (New Franken, Wisc.) and Sally Nelson (Apple Valley, Minn.) have all been selected to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-North/Central Region team.
Majeski was named to the Scholar All-North/Central Region Second Team for her efforts this fall, while Knief and Nelson gained Scholar All-Central Region Third Team honors. The North/Central Region teams include all NCAA Division II teams from both the NCAA's North and Central soccer regions.
To be eligible for Scholar All-Region recognition, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
A senior midfielder, Majeski is an Athletic Training major at SCSU and a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She was named to the All-NSIC First Team and was also selected the to United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region team in 2019. Majeski completed her season this fall with three goals, three assists and nine points.
The trio is completed by Nelson, who is a Criminal Justice major at SCSU. A senior defender, Nelson was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region team. A leader on SCSU backline, Nelson helped the Huskies outscored their opponents 31-16 this season. Of note, the 16 goals allowed set a new SCSU team season record for fewest goals allowed in a season.
St. Cloud State finished its 2019 season with an impressive 12-5-3 overall record and a 10-3-2 record in the always rugged NSIC. SCSU advanced to the semifinals of the 2019 NSIC tournament after gaining a first round win over Bemidji State.

- 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
- Started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contribute to their team
- Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution
- Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school
