St. Cloud State Tennis gets swept in regular season finale by Augustana

Huskies lose 7-0, finish the season 11-6
Sioux Falls, S.D.- St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (11-6, 6-5 NSIC) were defeated by Augustana (16-3, 10-0 NSIC) 7-0 Saturday evening. The Huskies lost the doubles point losing two of the three matches and failed to win a singles match. St. Cloud State finishes the regular season with the most wins since the 2017 season and will be headed to their second consecutive NSIC Tournament.
Doubles
St. Cloud State dropped the doubles point, losing two of the three matches. In the No. 1 spot, sophomore Johana Brower (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and sophomore Claudia Muñoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain) were defeated 1-6. Sophomore Maria Paz Aoki (Marcos Paz, Argentina) and freshman Oriana Grott (Warsaw, Poland) recorded the only win for the Huskies in the match as they beat Senem Ocal and Emily Granson 7-5 in the No. 2 spot for their third win as a duo. In the No. 3 spot, senior Olivia Fredrickson (Fridley, Minn.) and sophomore Maria Molitor (Delano, Minn.) lost 0-6 to Laura Arce Vieyra and Gabriela Jancikova.
Singles
In Singles play, the Huskies were swept in all six matches with all of them coming in straight sets. This was the second time that the Huskies were swept entirely in singles play with the first time coming against Mankato on April 11th. St. Cloud State ended the year with a 53-winning percentage in singles play as they came out victorious in 55 of their 102 total matches played. Four players for the Huskies finished with double digit singles wins. The list includes Brower, Kashima, Molitor, and Muñoz Perez.

St. Cloud State will be headed back to Sioux Falls next weekend for the NSIC Tournament as they have qualified for the second consecutive season. The Huskies are slated to play on Friday, April 21st, but time and opponent are undetermined at the time. Updates will be provided as information is released by the NSIC.
