
St. Cloud State Wrestling Remains No. 1 in Latest NWCA Poll

Huskies hold nation-high 10 ranked Wrestlers
Manheim, Pa.- St. Cloud State Wrestling remains the No. 1 ranked team in Division II via the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). The Huskies now hold a nation-high 10 ranked wrestlers after hoisting nine in the preseason poll.

The Huskies accumulated 106 points in the latest ranking. Central Oklahoma tallied 87 points to rank second and were followed by Wisconsin Parkside (76.5), McKendree (59.5), and Nebraska Kearney (52).

At 125, Conor Knopick moved up to #6 after being ranked #7 in the preseason poll. Knopick has started the season 2-3 with a 6th place finish at the Wisconsin Open this past weekend.

At 133, Sam Spencer is now ranked #6 after being unranked in the preseason poll. Spencer is off to a hot start as he holds a 12-1 record with six bonus point victories. Spencer has earned titles at the Yellowjacket and Luther College Open while taking third place at the Wisconsin Open this past weekend.

After being ranked #11 in the preseason poll, Alyeus Craig has jumped to #8 on the year thanks to a 9-2 record with seven bonus point victories. In the two open competitions that he has participated in, Craig has captured a third place and fourth place finish at the Luther College Open and Wisconsin Open respectively.

Colby Njos remains ranked #2 at the 149-pound class. Njos has yet to wrestle this season.

At 157, Joel Jesuroga is now ranked #7 after previously being unranked in the preseason poll. Jesuroga is off to an undefeated start as he holds a 5-0 record with two bonus point victories. In the lone open that Jesuroga has competed in, the Luther College Open, he earned the title at 157.

Nick Novak moved up to #5 at 165 after starting the year ranked #6. Novak is off to a fast start with an 8-1 record and has captured five bonus point victories. Through two competitions, Novak has tallied a top-two finish in both events with a second place finish at the Luther College Open and then a first place finish at the Wisconsin Open this past weekend.

At 174, Cole Glazier remains ranked #4 in the class. Through nine matches, Glazier holds a 6-3 record with three bonus point victories. He sophomore took second place at the Luther College Open and then placed fifth at the Wisconsin Open this weekend.

Bryce FitzPatrick is still ranked #6 at the 184-pound class. FitzPatrick has started the year 7-3 with three bonus point wins. At the Luther College Open, FitzPatrick took the first place title and then placed sixth at the Wisconsin Open this weekend.

At 197, Dominic Murphy remains ranked #4 in the class. Murphy is undefeated on the year with a 7-0 record and has tallied five bonus point wins. Through two opens, Murphy has taken first place in both events with titles at the Luther College Open and Wisconsin Open.

La'Ron Parks remains ranked #2 at the 285-pound class. Parks is 11-0 on the year with three bonus point victories and has captured three titles across three different competitions. Parks has earned titles at the Yellowjacket Open, Luther College Open, and Wisconsin Open.
