St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Set for NSIC Semifinals Matchup with Bemidji State

Huskies will make fifth appearance in NSIC Tournament semifinal round
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (14-1-4, 11-1-3 NSIC) is set to make its fifth appearance in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament semifinals on Friday when the No. 3-seeded Huskies face No. 2-seed Bemidji State (14-2-3, 11-1-3 NSIC). The match is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. CT at The Pitch in Mankato, Minn.
No. 1 seed Minnesota State (16-1-2) will face Concordia-St. Paul (12-3-4, 9-3-3 NSIC) in the other semifinals contest at 1:00 p.m. CT.

SERIES HISTORY
In the all-time series between SCSU and Bemidji State, the Beavers have a slight edge at 14-10-3 and a 5-1-1 advantage in the last seven games. The teams have split the last two meetings, with SCSU winning a 2-1 meeting on Sept. 22, 2024, in St. Cloud. Senior forward Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) scored the game-winning goal in the game in the 66th minute, solidifying the win for the Huskies. The Huskies only loss this season came to Bemidji State, a 2-1 result on Oct. 10 at Husky Stadium.
The two teams have met five times in postseason competition, four times in the NSIC Tournament and once in the NCAA Tournament with Bemidji State holding a 3-1-1 mark in those contests (listed below).

ANOTHER CAMPAIGN FOR THE RECORD BOOK
SCSU is tracking towards their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth after reaching the national tournament for the first two times in program history in each of the last two seasons. This season, SCSU has already produced numerous program records, including its best start in program history with a nine-game unbeaten streak and most shutouts at 11.
SCSU closed the regular season with its program-record 11th win in conference play, surpassing its previous best marks of 10 wins in 2019 and 2023. SCSU's win over Augustana in the NSIC Quarterfinals was its 14th, matching its total from 2023 for the most in program history.
HUSKIES CLEAN UP AT NSIC AWARDS
SCSU had two recognized in specialty awards and eight named to all-conference teams in the end-of-season Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) awards. Head coach Gretta Macdonald was named the NSIC Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons while senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) was named the NSIC Midfielder of the Year. Additionally, SCSU had a league-high eight individuals earn all-conference honors, with two being named to the first team and six earning second team honors.
Macdonald's coach of the year honor is the second time in three seasons (2023) and the second time ever an SCSU coach has earned the conference's top coaching honor. UPSET MINDED HUSKIES
SCSU earned its statement win of the season to-date in the regular season finale, upending and handing No. 2 Minnesota State its first loss of the season in a 1-0 victory on Nov. 6 in Mankato. With the win, SCSU improved to 9-27-4 all-time against the Mavericks and snapped a five-game winless streak against Minnesota State. The win snapped a 36-game unbeaten streak in home conference games for the Mavericks, with its last loss coming on Nov. 8, 2019, a 1-0 setback to Concordia-St. Paul.
MACDONALD GETS 100
Head coach Gretta Macdonald reached a career milestone when she earned her 100th career victory in a 4-1 win over Wayne State on Oct. 31. In her 12th season as head coach (no season in 2020 due to pandemic), Macdonald is already the program's longest tenured and winningest coach at 103-80-35 (.579). She helped the Huskies capture its first-ever conference championship in 2023 when the team won the NSIC Regular Season championship, and she has led the program to its first two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2023 and 2024. Her teams have 10 program records, including most victories (14, 2023 & 2025), best winning percentage (.714, 2023), most conference wins (11, 2025) most shutouts (11, 2025), and fewest goals allowed (15, 2024).
25-POINT CLUB ADDITIONS
For the first time in program history, St. Cloud State Women's Soccer has four current student athletes with 25 career points. Two Huskies, senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) and junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa), reached the 25-point club this season, joining senior Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) and junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) who reached the milestone last season.
Quam reached 25 points in SCSU's 1-0 win over Michigan Tech on Sept. 7 and then recorded three assists in a 5-0 win over UW-Parkside on Sept. 12 to match a career-high for assists in a game. She is just the second Husky in program history to have multiple games with three or more assists, joining Kim Corbin who did it four times. Quam currently leads the NSIC in assists with seven. Her 21 career assists rank second all-time while her 35 career points rank 14th.
Olson is the latest to join the 25-point club with an assist in a 2-1 win over Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 12, becoming the 25th Husky in program history to reach the mark. Olson has scored 2+ goals and 2+ assists in each of her three seasons as a Husky, including a 13-point (4g/5a) performance so far this season.
Primerano and Trapino continue to work their way up the all-time scoring list for the Huskies. Primerano currently ranks fifth with 54 points (17g/20a) while Trapino ranks eighth with 48 points (19g/10a).
STRICKLAND STRICT IN NET
Redshirt sophomore Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) has been elite in net for the Huskies this season as she continues to build on an impressive campaign that will be remembered in the record book. The now two-time All-NSIC second team selection has produced an 14-1-4 mark in net with a 0.53 GAA, .848 S% and nine shutouts while earning her first career NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week honor on Oct. 6.
Among NSIC leaders this season, Strickland ranks second in shutouts (10), third in GAA (0.53) and third in S% (.848). Among program records for a single season, Strickland's marks currently rank first in GAA, first in shutouts and fourth in S%. Among career records, she already ranks first in wins (27) and first in shutouts (18).
