St. Cloud State Softball Drops Pitcher’s Duel to Wayne State, Game Two Canceled Due to Rain

Huskies fall 1-0 in lone completed game
WAYNE, Neb. – St. Cloud State Softball (25-10, 4-3 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) fell to Wayne State (19-12, 4-3 NSIC) in a 1-0 pitcher's duel at the Pete Chapman Softball Complex in Wayne Saturday morning. The second game made it to the bottom of the third inning before it was canceled due to rain.
GAME ONE: WAYNE STATE 1, ST. CLOUD STATE 0
Wayne State plated the game's only run in the home half of the fourth inning with a solo home run to left field. The Huskies recorded six hits and drew four walks but struck out 12 times in their second straight 1-0 shutout loss. Aside from the home run, junior right handed pitcher Macey Clark (Winneconne, Wis.) had a solid for SCU, only allowing three hits, while striking out five batters in her complete game effort.
