
St. Cloud State Softball Extends Win Streak to Nine, Sweeps Fourth Straight Series

Huskies outscore Sioux Falls 19-5 in Saturday doubleheader
GAME ONE: ST. CLOUD STATE 9, SIOUX FALLS 4
SCSU took a 1-0 in the first half inning before adding four more runs in the second, highlighted by a 2-RBI double from sophomore outfielder Bree Beck (Lakeville, Minn.) to take a 5-0 lead.
Sioux Falls scored its first run in the bottom of the second and added two more in the fifth after a 2-RBI single, which cut their deficit to two. The Huskies regained a comfortable margin in the seventh, scoring four more runs with a 2-RBI double from sophomore catcher/infielder Bethany Weiss (Forest Lake, Minn.) and an RBI-single from junior infielder Sydney Roe (Davenport, Iowa). The Coo scored its fourth and final run in the last half inning after an RBI-double.

- SCSU improved to 4-2 on the road this season and extended its winning streak to a season-best eight games.
- The Huskies scored 9+ runs for the 13th time this season (4 of the last 5 games) and recorded 10+ hits for the 16th time (fourth consecutive game).
- SCSU hit 3+ doubles for the 11th time this season (second straight game) and stole 2+ bases for the 17th time.

- Weiss posted her 16th multi-hit game of the season which is tied for second most on the team. She also recorded her ninth multi-RBI game of the season which is the second most on the team. She hit her 10th double of the season, becoming the fourth Husky to hit 10+ doubles this season.
- Clark retied the team lead for wins this season (14) and surpassed 125.0 innings pitched on the season.
- Porter recorded her eighth save of the season, which is a new single season best.
- Roe tallied her seventh multi-hit game of the season and extended her on-base streak to five games.
- Beck posted her second multi-RBI game of the season and her sixth double of the season.
- Redshirt sophomore infielder Grace Frechette (Forest Lake, Minn.) extended her hitting streak to a season-high eight games and on-base streak to 10 games.
- Senior infielder Maggie Fitzgerald (Oak Lawn, Ill.) extended her on-base streak to seven games.
- Redshirt freshman utility Kaylee Collins (Lakeville, Minn.) extended her on-base streak to six games.
The Huskies jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first half inning after a 2-RBI double from Roe, an RBI-double from Weiss and an RBI-bunt from sophomore infielder Brooke Holmes (Savage, Minn.). USF scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the second.
SCSU added two more goals in the second inning after an RBI-triple from Fitzgerald and a sacrifice fly from Holmes. Graduate infielder Evy Polsfuss (Apple Valley, Minn.) extended the Huskies lead to seven in the third with an RBI-single and Frechette pushed the SCSU lead to nine in the top of the sixth after hitting a two-run home run.

- Frechette tallied her fifth multi-hit game of the season. She extended her hitting streak to a season-best nine games and her on-base streak to 11 games. She recorded her eighth multi-RBI game of the season which is tied for third most on the team this season. She hit her second home run of the season and the 10th of her career.
- Eickhoff remained undefeated on the season and regained the team lead for wins, with 15 and lowered her season ERA to 2.15. She surpassed 100.0 innings pitched this season and 75 strikeouts. She also tossed her nine complete game which is second most on the team.
- Roe recorded her eighth multi-hit game of the season. She extended her hitting streak to a season-best five games and her on-base streak to six games. She posted her eighth multi-RBI game of the season which is tied for third most on the team this season.
- Fitzgerald extended her hitting streak to five games and on-base streak to eight games. She hit her first triple of the season and the second of her career.
- Holzhueter extended her hitting/on-base streak to 11 games.
- Weiss extended her hitting/on-base streak to five games. She hit her 11th double of the season which is tied for second most on the team.
