Brandt joins Huskies after three years on staff with D-I Wisconsin
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer head coach Gretta Macdonald announced the hiring of Becca Brandt as a volunteer assistant coach on Wednesday. A former captain for D-I Wisconsin, Brandt has spent that last three seasons as an assistant coach for her alma mater.
"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Becca Brandt, and her husband Jeff, back to the great state of Minnesota and SCSU," said Macdonald. "Her elite coaching and recruiting experience will help elevate our program. We're excited to build on our tradition and achieve great things in the seasons ahead."
Brandt has spent the last three seasons on the Wisconsin coaching staff, helping lead the Badgers to a 2023 Big Ten Championship game appearance, back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2023 and 2024 and an NCAA Sweet 16 berth in 2024. Prior to her time in Madison, Brandt spent time coaching at the club and high school levels, serving as an age group director and coach with Fusion Soccer Club in Plymouth, and as an assistant coach at St. Louis Park High School.
A native of Valencia, Calif., the former Becca Harrison played midfielder for Wisconsin from 2014-17 and served as captain during her senior season. The Badgers captured two Big Ten championships during Brandt's playing career, winning the 2014 tournament title and the 2015 regular season championship. She received the 2017 Big Ten Sportsmanship award and was named to the Big Ten's All-Academic Team all four years.
Brandt graduated from UW in 2018 with a degree in neurobiology. She also has experience working as an educational support professional at Maple Grove Middle School and as a concussion research specialist at Wisconsin.
