Porter Tosses Fifth Perfect Game in Program History, St. Cloud State Softball Sweeps First Day at Space Coast Spring Games

Huskies outscore Davenport and Bridgeport 8-1
TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Senior pitcher Justyce Porter (Kent, Wash.) threw just the fifth perfect game in the history of St. Cloud State Softball as the squad extended its win streak to seven games with a pair of wins on its opening day at the Space Coast Spring Games at the Chain of Lakes Softball Complex in Titusville. The Huskies (11-1, 0-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) beat Davenport (Mich.) 4-1 in game one and Bridgeport 4-0 in game two.
GAME ONE: ST. CLOUD STATE 4, DAVENPORT 1
SCSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half inning after junior infielder Kennedy Palmer (Ankeny, Iowa) hit an RBI-single and another run scored on a wild pitch during the ensuing at bat. Davenport (0-6, 0-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) got on the board with an RBI-single of its own in the bottom of the third to cut its deficit in half, but the Huskies pushed their lead to three in the top of the seventh after an error scored a run and sophomore infielder Grace Dahmen (Jordan, Minn.) hit a sacrifice to score the other.
Senior pitcher Macey Clark (Winneconne, Wis.) was excellent, only allowing one run on three hits over 7.0 innings.

Weiss hit an RBI-single in the second inning to open for the Huskies before another run scored on a Bridgeport (2-1, 0-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) error in the third to make it 2-0 SCSU. St. Cloud State doubled its lead in the sixth inning with back-to-back RBI-doubles from Weiss and Roe.
Porter was perfect over 7.0 innings, striking seven batters out. Her perfect game was the fifth in program history (first since 2023) and just the third of 7.0 innings by a pitcher with the others being a 5.0 inning outing and a combined 7.0 inning performance.

- Sophomore catcher/infielder Morgan Honeycutt (Rosemount, Minn.) drew a walk to extend her on-base streak to a season-best seven games.
- Junior infielder Brooke Holmes (Savage, Minn.) drew a walk to extend her on-base streak to a season-best five games.
